Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program

Auburn joined the National Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program in 2011 with gardening lessons to start term 2 2012 and kitchen lessons in term 3, 2012. each week all students R-7 will participate in 45 minute gardening lessons and 90 minute cooking lessons, using produce grown in the school gardens. Students care for worm farms, chooks and compost piles as a part of these lessons. Community volunteers are welcome to join lessons to share their knowledge and experiences and build on the school sense of community.

Active After School

Auburn Primary is a part of the Active After School program with a wide variety of sports being offered 1 afternoon per week for 7 weeks of each term. Students have participated in Hockey, Baseball, Lawn Bowls, Martial Arts, Tennis and Athletics.

Youth Environment Forum

Auburn students have joined the NRM Youth Environment Forum and are currently leading whole school change around Wiping Out Waste. Previous student led projects have included making a frog pond and planting out a native garden in the school grounds.

Roadwatch

Auburn Students have adopted the Main street of Auburn to keep clean as a part of the Roadwatch Program. 4 times per year the students ensure that the beautiful town of Auburn remains beautiful.
